Morgane Baroghel-Crucq is a Fiber artist and craft woman. Her work explores the link between textile, landscape and identity. It is an exploration of material through weaving: by the research of woven possibilities of the materials that surrounds her, she proposes a contemplation of silent landscapes. Her weavings are portraits of landscapes, fictive or real, experienced or imaginary. In each of her artworks, Morgane Baroghel-Crucq offers the experience of contemplation. They create a bridge between the materiality of the landscape and the intimate emotions that it provides.
Each work, each thread is an organic imprint, revealing the interdependence of life. The choice of materials is not trivial, Morgane uses plant, animal and mineral fibers, symbolizing the unity of everything. From linen to metal, each material reveals the complexity and richness of our environment.
The changing shades of light on the silk threads with the subtle nuances of mineral colors, like reflections of passing time, reveal the ephemeral beauty of the present moment, inviting the viewer through their own movement, to contemplate the constant transformation of the world which surrounds it.
Convinced that Crafts have an important part to play as inspiration for the future of industries and for new imaginaries, she is involved in many projects that gather crafts people such as curatorial projects and exhibitions.
After studying weaving at the textile department of ENSCI in Paris, she founded her weaving studio in 2013 in Paris and moved in Southern France in 2019.
Her early works has been awarded with the Crafts worker’s Award of Atelier d’Art de France. Her work has since been supported by the Fondation d’Entreprise Banque Populaire and the Fondation d’Entreprise Hermès. In 2023, she was awarded with le Grand Prix de La Creation de la Ville de Paris and became a member of Les Grands Ateliers de France.
